We are so excited to be having not one but two Mappy Hours during the festival at one of our favorite Mappy Hour locations, a simple, beautiful store in Tribeca called Best Made. For those who haven't yet experienced the magic of Best Made, here's a bit of their philosophy (and wise words for both the trail and life).
PACKING OPTIMISM
The most important thing you bring to any outdoor experience is your attitude. The first thing every survival book instructs you do in a emergency survival situation is: Don’t panic. In other words: “Check your attitude.” There is no reason this type of thinking can’t be applied to non-emergency situations. Be optimistic. Be confident. Be smart. While having the right gear and proper knowledge can keep you safe, it is no guarantee of a pleasant trip. A positive attitude will prepare you to enjoy your expedition and is as much your responsibility as the water purifier you carry, the canoe you paddle, and your ability to hang a bear bag. Add it to the list of things to take on your next trip. It’s not as if it’s going to add any weight to your pack.
Join Best Made Company for a good bit of optimism, good camaraderie, and a skosh of whisky at not just one but two Mappy Hours for this year’s Outdoorfest: June 2nd and June 4th at the Best Made Company shop at 36 White St in Tribeca.
Best Made Company is dedicated to equipping customers with quality tools and dependable information that they can use and pass down for generations. We seek to empower people to get outside, use their hands and in doing so embark on a life of fulfilling projects and lasting experiences.
