Nature Matters. Celebrate the future of nature in NYC
This Thursday, February 23rd, at 6:30 pm, Natural Areas Conservancy is celebrating the natural world of New York City at REI SoHo. You can hear about plans for safeguarding the city for future generations, upcoming outdoor events, check out a cool interactive nature map, and you’ll get the chance to win some awesome prizes.
If that doesn't convince you, there will also be some speakers you don’t want to miss:
Eric Sanderson, conservation ecologist and author of Mannahatta
Adrian Benepe, VP with the Trust for Public Land and former NYC Parks Commissioner
Amy Freitag, Executive Director of the J.M. Kaplan Fund, generous funder of the Nature Goals initiative
Melissa Abramson, REI’s Manager of Outdoor Programs and Outreach in the Tri-State Region.
There will be light refreshments provided, as well as beer from Sierra Nevada. The event is free, so come listen to all of the ideas for improving NYC nature, and share some of yours too! You can find more information about the event here.
