Cranksgiving: Adrenaline + GOOD combine

What's going on?

This Saturday, one of our all time favorite do good + have fun events will be taking over the streets of NYC. Cranksgiving started in New York City in 1999 and has spread to cities across the country as a way to get people engaged in raising food donations for Thanksgiving. It's modeled after an Alleycat, a race that doesn't happen in a velodrome or on a track but rather on the streets.

How Cranksgiving Works

You show up to Hudson Yards on Saturday at 2:00PM. You don't need to bring much, just your bike, a helmet, and some cash. Once you arrive you and your team will be handed a list of grocery stores and food items. Before you even get on your bike, you and your team will have to strategically plan which grocery stores you'll go to in order to be competitive in the short v. long distance races. Once the clock starts you set off grabbing stuffing at one store on the Upper West Side and then perhaps a chicken or bullion at a store in the East Village.  After a few hours of racing your bike down Broadway (and of course following all traffic laws) you'll finish the race by donating all of the items you collected.
